Comparison / ScreenConnect
A ScreenConnect alternative with a different seat model
A ScreenConnect alternative worth comparing on the real terms: named technician seats versus concurrent technicians, client organisation structure, consent and your customer’s experience. ScreenConnect Standard already includes unlimited unattended agents.

Why people look for a ScreenConnect alternative
Providers often compare remote-support products because they want a different customer workflow, clearer organisation boundaries or a billing unit that matches the team. A comparison should begin with the correct version of the incumbent’s plan, otherwise the strongest-looking savings claim can be the least credible part of the page.
The official ScreenConnect pricing table lists unlimited unattended agents on Standard and Premium. Its separate Remote Access product does not mean every Remote Support customer pays a second device meter. We do not add an invented device bill to make our result look better.
Remote Login offers named technician seats with published device allowances on Starter and Agency, and unlimited devices on Pro. Agency includes unlimited client organisations and branding. The question is whether those entitlements and the visible session workflow better fit your provider business.
If you are searching for a ConnectWise alternative, define the product you mean. Replacing ScreenConnect access is not the same as replacing an entire ConnectWise management or service stack. Remote Login is not an RMM or a ticketing suite.

| Question | ScreenConnect | Remote Login |
|---|---|---|
| What is the licensing unit? | Standard is per concurrent technician and includes unlimited unattended agents. | Named technician seats; monthly prices. |
| What is the published starting point for this comparison? | Standard: $45/month billed annually, or $59 billed monthly. | Starter $25, Agency $45, Pro $75 per technician/month. |
| How should I compare device capacity? | Use the allowance in the exact selected plan. | 100 devices/Starter seat; 250/Agency seat; unlimited/Pro seat. |
| What about client organisations? | Verify the required separation and workflow in the chosen edition. | One on Starter; unlimited on Agency and Pro. |
| What about branding? | Check the relevant edition and each customer-facing surface. | Branding on Agency; full white-label on Pro, with disclosed limits. |
| Can this control an iPhone? | Third-party control is constrained by iOS; distinguish viewing from input. | Attended iOS sharing and guidance; no remote touch input. |
The table names the decisions a buyer must verify. A blank assumption should not be converted into a “no” in the competitor’s column. Edition-dependent capabilities need the actual plan, and technical requirements need a real device test.
Keep the completed comparison with the evaluation notes. Record which plan was quoted, when it was checked and which requirements remained unresolved. That gives the eventual buyer a decision they can review, instead of a screenshot of a headline price with the important conditions cropped away.
For the OS side, use the published platform capability matrix. For the support experience, review our remote support platform and ask each vendor to show the person-at-the-device view as well as the console.

Where ScreenConnect is genuinely the better choice
ScreenConnect can be the better choice if your team already relies on its integrations, administration workflows or the wider ConnectWise environment. Remote Login does not claim parity with every extension or management function. A replacement should be evaluated against the functions your technicians use, including the less frequent ones.
Its published Standard and Premium plans also include unlimited unattended agents. A team with relatively few simultaneous technicians and a large fleet may find that a strong commercial fit. Our Agency device allowance is finite; ignoring that would make the comparison unfair.
Ask what you would lose during a switch as carefully as what you would gain. An established support workflow, useful history or important extension may justify keeping the incumbent even when the alternative has an appealing customer experience.

What switching actually involves
Separate the ScreenConnect access replacement from any wider ConnectWise project. Inventory the installed agents, unattended fleet, technician concurrency, extensions and integrations. Decide which are essential and which are simply present because the product offers them.
Build a pilot organisation in Remote Login and test representative devices. Verify enrolment, the user-side consent prompt, the available input capabilities, expiry, revocation and the resulting record. A successful Windows desktop does not prove the Mac or Linux configuration in the rest of the fleet.
No automated ScreenConnect history migration is promised. Preserve the records you need using the existing service’s supported methods. Maintain the old access route during the pilot and remove it only once the replacement’s permissions and recovery process have been validated.
Treat the change as a controlled pilot with a way back. The devices belong to a customer or employer, and installing another access path changes who can reach them. Tell the responsible people what is changing, who authorises it and how they can identify a legitimate session.
Before committing, read the setup, session and record flow and the security model. Providers should also check the multi-client organisation model and the actual white-label scope.
Remote Login
What it would cost you
Ten named Agency seats cost $450 per month, covering up to 2,500 devices. ScreenConnect Standard is listed at $45 per concurrent technician per month billed annually, or $59 billed monthly. Those values are not automatically ten times the same unit: your ten staff might need fewer concurrent licenses.
For a ten-person team with all ten working at once, you can model ten concurrent entitlements. For a team with two active at once, use two when the license conditions permit it. Include the correct billing period and features. We will not call our result cheaper merely by giving the incumbent the wrong inputs.
Use our seat calculator for the Remote Login side. It shows the lowest-priced plan that fits exactly the selected number of technicians, device count and organisation choice. Required feature entitlements can still lead you to a different tier.
Include the overlap between subscriptions, deployment time and technician familiarisation in a migration budget. These are ordinary costs of changing a business tool, even when the replacement’s monthly subscription is lower.

Questions, answered
Questions about moving from ScreenConnect
Is Remote Login a direct replacement for every ScreenConnect feature?
No. Remote Login is a focused remote support and access platform. List the features your team actually depends on, including integrations and administration workflows, then evaluate those requirements explicitly. A successful remote desktop connection alone does not establish full product parity.
Does ScreenConnect always charge separately for unattended devices?
No. The official table checked on 22 September 2026 includes unlimited unattended agents in Standard and Premium Remote Support. A separate Remote Access product exists, but it should not be automatically added to every support-plan calculation.
Can we move the whole fleet in one step?
A staged rollout is more useful than an untested fleet cutover. Begin with representative devices and client organisations, verify permissions and records, and keep a recovery route until the replacement works. No one-click migration of agents or historical audit data is advertised.
Will changing vendors give us full iPhone control?
No third-party support platform gains system-wide iPhone input privileges merely by replacing another app. Read why iOS viewing and control are different, including the separate Apple FaceTime feature, before promising a mobile support capability.
What should the pilot prove?
Prove the enrolled device is in the correct organisation, the technician has the intended permissions, the supported inputs work and the customer sees a clear session. Test decline, expiry and revocation as well as acceptance. Finally, inspect the record that remains.
